Important reminder: you’ve got just 8 days to put together a Halloween costume for next Saturday!
For New Yorkers, if you’ve never been to the Village Halloween parade, you’re missing out on one of the hands-down best city events of the year. There is NOTHING like marching down Sixth Ave and seeing literally millions of New Yorkers exhibiting their creativity in the most horrifying or hilarious ways imaginable. Last year, I was the Invisible Man…
Some design their costumes months in advance, others frantically piece together outfits in the half-hour before the parade. Whatever you do, just don’t be one of the suckers in this hour-long line on October 31…
To those that have never gone, anyone can march in the parade, costume or not. Just go to Canal & Sixth Ave and head on in. Even if you just want to watch, I still recommend doing it from inside the parade. You can get much better pictures and see the costumes up close.

Just add a little inking to your Invisible Man costume and you could totally go this year as Rorschach:

Just a suggestion — a place you may want to add to your list –
a slice of old NY that is still here — There’s a little pizza and pasta
place on 1st Ave (East Side) right next to the 59th St Bridge — right on the corner. (SE corner) Front door on 1st side door on 59.
Amazing decor — authentic old NY — checked cloths, old copper pans, charming funky old school Italian family place. The back dining room is an amazing hide away. Go take a look — across
from Bed Bath and Beyond –
Cool costume! I really wish I was in NY right now to go to the Halloween parade. *sigh*
