Good-bye, Florida

Back in the city, and starting Monday, all new NYC posts. I hope you enjoyed my write-up of our roadtrip to Key West. One final bit of advice if you decide to make the trek yourself: when you go to take a picture of yourself standing at the southern-most point in the continental United States…

…make sure you’re actually standing at the southern-most point in the continental United States.

PS – A couple of weeks ago, donations to my film tipped the $15,000 mark, which is incredible. I’m going to do a full update on the status of the project soon. In the meantime, the good news is that my script, Containment, was a top 10 finalist out of something like 1,000 entries in a pretty well-regarded competition. It’s also a contender in another major contest, where an early peak at the judge’s scorecard revealed solid 9′s across the board. Hooray!

The less encouraging news: it’s not going to be cheap. I’m trying to figure it all out now, but to the 700+ readers who’ve donated (including some who have donated multiple times) – THANK YOU. The money is quietly sitting in the bank waiting to make my dream come true when the time is right.

If you liked this post, would you consider making a donation to help me make my first movie? The goal is $30,000, and already, 1014 generous readers have donated $21,705.69. Just $5 or $10 can make a difference - AND you get this snazzy Scouting NY bumper sticker or bumper magnet as a Thank-You gift! Click here to donate today!
