Last week, I was sent up to scout around Tappan, NY, a beautiful hamlet just over the New Jersey border. Each day, I found myself driving back and forth along a road called Western Highway…
…and in the process, passing a gorgeous brick building that appeared to be abandoned.

Above this building at the end of Delancey Street…
I noticed a huge flock of birds circling overhead…Except, they never left the area. They just kept . . . Almost a year ago, I wrote a post about my favorite building in midtown, this chopped-in-half brownstone at 19 W 46th Street.
The other day, I got a note that a Lego fan had built a Lego version of the building based on my pictures!
I was scouting in the Richmond Hill neighborhood of Queens today when I saw this tree that appears to be devouring its “SLOW – CHILDREN AT PLAY” sign.
I’ve seen signs with bark wrap-over before, but here it seems like the tree is on the verge of gulping the sign down. . . . |
