The Legend of the Metrocard Bike
When I saw it today at 59th and 8th, I didn’t realize I had come across a legend. At the time, it seemed like a clever novelty: a bike completely decked out in Metrocards (for non-New Yorkers, a Metrocard is a NYC subway pass). Great job, right? I like the basket work… I also dig…
Is This The Weirdest Car In New York City?
OK, so that time machine I spotted in the Bronx was definitely one of the weirdest cars I’ve ever come across, and that Mad Max limo was pretty unusual too. But this one might have them both beat. I spotted this, er, customized Hyundai one evening last week on the Upper West Side… Literally, every…
NY’s Green Mutant Teenagers Celebrate 25 Years
Yesterday, the Empire State building was lit up green for Earth Day. Tonight (Thursday, April 23), it will also be green, but for an entirely different reason, ironically celebrating an event that could have never occurred on a clean planet… It’s the 25th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Don’t know if that’s David Crow (kinda looks like him), if not, it’s a direct riff on Crow’s “Red Stiletto” which was a fixture in the Houston Art Car Parade for a few years until being retired to the museum.

It’s way cool to see the shoe driving around.
Pumpity pump
haha…I wonder if this is the show that was parked outside the Marshall’s shoe store right by 8th & B’Way. The store didn’t last long, and the ‘shoe-mobile’ I think was only there for a few days. Maybe it actually had nothing to do with Marshall’s….
Like Ed Sullivan said “It’s a really big shoe…”
Does it take “high-heel test”?
I really enjoy your Scouting reports.
