A Snowstorm In Brooklyn
So New York’s latest snowstorm (that’s five so far!) is in full force. I ran out a few minutes ago to take some pictures for those who aren’t lucky enough to be here to enjoy it. 🙂 In a string of bad snow storms, I’d say this one’s topping ’em all…and does this weather forecast…
East Williamsburg Factories, Sunset Park Warehouses
I spent the earlier part of today trolling through the factories of East Williamsburg/Bushwick looking for interesting blocks that could stand-in for an industrial section of Manhattan. One of the great parts about walking through these otherwise deserted stretches of Brooklyn are the smells. There are lots of factories making various food products, and different…
Bad News on the BQE
One of the more tedious aspects of film locations work is writing up directions to set. You have to do them from multiple starting positions, include return directions, give “Commercial route” versions for trucks and make sure the bridge clearances are high enough, only to ultimately have every Hollywood-type call you frantically on the morning…
The 5 Locations Low-Budget Films Should Avoid In New York
Every week, I receive numerous requests from no/low budget filmmakers in search of New York City locations for cheap. Some I can help with; most, I simply don’t know where to begin. Looks like the end of a steel cable from a suspension bridge or elevator that has been melted. Could it be from World Trade Center?
Rubin Art Museum – Statue of buddha
my first thought was a statue, but I went to the Met. But I can’t figure out of what because the photo creeps me out! Eeps.
sorry meant to say “…but I went to the Met (not the Rubin)”
I’ll guess Takashimaya.
Definitely a type of copper or malachite. Probably in a museum because a piece like that would highly valuable. I have a small sample of the similar mineral
The Statue of Liberty’s underarm hair? (she IS French)
I live in the south, but it is copper wire. Looks like a cable that has weathered outside for sometime.
The Statue of Liberty’s underarm hair? (she IS French)
If she were American she wouldn’t have underarms hair. Or, tragically, another sort of body hair 🙁
