Scouting NY at the Soho Apple Store – Free Event!

applestore

Hey everyone,

To coincide with this years Tribeca Film Festival, New York’s Apple stores are hosting a series of events about filmmaking, and they’ve invited me to talk about my work as a location scout!

Come join me on Monday, April 23rd, 6:00pm at the Soho Apple Store at 72 Greene Street (the Prince Street location is under renovation). I’ll be giving a slide show and discussing everything locations-related, including how I became a scout, some of the cool places you get to visit in this odd line of work (I’ll be sure to include a few gems I’ve never written about on the site), how the whole process works, and probably of most value to amateur filmmakers, how to secure locations on the cheap.

The event is free, and there will be a Q&A after.

See you there!

-Nick

  1. Well done Nick! I’m sure the evening will be a huge success. I’m sad I won’t get to see these hidden gems that are not on the site 🙁 In any case it is sure to be a wonderful evening! If I didn’t live on the other side of the world I’d be there for sure.

  2. Can you please please make sure this gets on video? I’m reading your blog from europe so there’s no chance I can make it to your talk.

  3. Please record this seminar on video for those who (like me) won’t be able to attend the seminar. It would be greatly appreciated.

  4. +1 for recording this. Perhaps the organization will record this anyway, in that case: please share a link. 😀

  5. nick, what a cool event. i’m stuck in chicago so it isn’t a possibility. best of luck!

  6. Nick, I will be there in spirit from Florida. Like the others I would like to see video of the event (you tube maybe).

  7. I am so incredibly excited for this. I will making a trip from Massachusetts to NY, JUST FOR THIS.
