The Hidden Courtyard At The Plaza Hotel
A few months ago, I was scouting some apartments in the Plaza Hotel when my guide asked if I wanted to see the Plaza’s courtyard. Now here’s the thing: not only did I have absolutely no idea the Plaza had a courtyard, I couldn’t even figure out where a courtyard would fit. But, after winding…
The Weird Little Building on Lafayette Street
There’s a strange little building at the corner of Lafayette and Howard Street, and for years, I’ve wondered what the story is with it: The small portion on the left is a tiny one-level office, with the facade extending to cover the wall of a parking garage, whose entrance is through that roll-gate on the…
Scouting The Remains of Brooklyn’s Incredible Paramount Movie Theatre
In my travels through the city, I’ve driven down the northern end of Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn roughly eight billion times… …and I have never once given a second thought to the nondescript office building at Dekalb, part of the Long Island University campus. And I don’t think I ever would have if I hadn’t…

The Most Egotistical Sign in New York City?

Since I view the site on Google Reader, I can see posts even after you deleted them. So, my answer to the A-Lister hotel is the Trump International. Was I right?
Yeah, Trump would have been my guess too. Incidently, the tall white hotel tower on opposite side of the park is The Pierre. It’s former ballroom is now a penthouse for sale. Might be interesting to do a piece on that, as it is supposed to be quite something.
Mandarin Oriental at Columbus Circle?
The Mayflower? Oh wait, that’s not exactly A-list…but I did stay there for a movie job in early 2001 so I remember that view.
The Ritz-Carlton
This is just a shot in the dark, but is it John Lennon’s room? It would be appropriate….
The Plaza.
Since the Post caption is “A view from an A-Lister’s hotel room”; I would say you were at the Carlyle
It is from Columbus Circle — which looks to be Mandarin Oriental – in the Time Warner Center.
The Mayflower hotel has been gone for years – it’s now 15 CPW, which is has some of the most expensive real estate in NYC – that and TWC. I love – and live on the upper west side. This is my hood.
since my DH built the darn TWC, I’m guessing from the angle this is Trump Intl.. a tad north of it.

בתי מלון, אין על מי לסמוך חייב לבדוק מלונות לעוף מפה !!
I was going to say 15 Central Park West. Does that have a hotel though? I don’t think so.
