The Secret Courtyard On Perry Street
I was scouting in the West Village last week… …when I happened to notice a cute stuccoed building on Perry Street, with an unusual second-story apartment entrance just above the arched entrance. As I was checking out the building, I happened to look through the gate… …and noticed something interesting: was that a second building…
A Golden Elevator In Prospect Park South
I always enjoy scouting apartment buildings around the Prospect Park South area. They don’t look especially interesting from the outside… …but you’d be amazed at how many have an almost regal tone to their lobbies. Sadly, most of them are pretty run down, but the details often persist, and every once in a while, you…
After Hours At An Amusement Park: Exploring Rye Playland In The Dark
It’s after hours at the amusement park. The rides have all been shut down. Everyone’s gone home. The ticket windows all say “CLOSED.” But why don’t we take a look inside anyway? Because nothing beats an amusement park after hours…
Drying Your Clothes The Old (Old!) Fashioned Way on the Upper West Side
This past weekend, I was scouting one of those gargantuan pre-war beauties along Riverside Drive. While in the basement, I accidentally walked into the laundry room and stumbled upon the coolest thing… Check out these amazing laundry drying cabinets, easily 100+ years old! Each slot features a vertical rack that slides out, with numerous rungs…

Apparently, my grandmother took a trip to New York sometime in what must have been the 1950’s or early 60’s, and purchased one of those souvenir tablecloths with a cartoon tourist map of New York. The artwork is great, but…

Last week, I was scouting office space in midtown, and I stopped by one of my favorite buildings on Sixth Avenue. At 850 feet tall, 30 Rockefeller Plaza is the 10th tallest building in New York… …which is why I love the little townhouse standing next to it so much. On an avenue lined by…

Wonderful! What building is this view from?
I second that, where is this building?! Such a gorgeous view
Gorgeous. I think I might stay in there all day. The reality is that whoever lives there probably doesn’t even notice it anymore.
I don’t live in the city, but neither of my bathrooms have windows. One has a skylight though.
I have the opposite view from the Brooklyn/Dumbo side on the 29th floor in JCondo.
Is this a view from the Muni bulding? This looks just like what I used to see from the handicapped stall in the ladies room on the 17th floor when I worked there.
it would be nicer if the bathtub was higher.. that way you would really be enjoying the view when you’re sitting in the tub..
With a view like that who needs to read a book while on the throne.
Thats amazing, i would love to live there.
The men’s room at the Rainbow Room is up a narrow flight of stairs – standing at the urinals you have an incredible unimpeded view of Central Park. Fortunately the opposite isn’t also true…
The bath Room in the crysler bldg has a better view
